Lone Star Legal Aid is working hard to honor the men and women who have served our country.  We are doing this through our initiative Lone Star Lawyers for Lone Star Veterans.  One aspect of this project to serve Texas Veterans with civil legal needs is a weekly legal clinic for veterans operated by our dedicated Lone Star Legal Aid Longview office. The veteran legal services clinic takes place every Thursday from 1-3 p.m. for veterans and veteran dependant’s who have civil legal problems but cannot afford an attorney.  If you are a veteran or a veteran dependant and need legal help please come to this free legal services clinic located at our Lone Star Legal Aid Longview office at 140 East Tyler St. Suite 150, Longview, Texas 75601. This is a special clinic operated in addition to our regular intake hours.

If you have a legal emergency, please contact Lone Star Legal Aid immediately.  Please help spread the word about what Lone Star Legal Aid is doing to honor Texas Veterans by passing along our flier LONGVIEW CLINIC FLIER VETS and brochure  LONESTARLAWYERS LONGVIEW CLINIC BROCHURE.

For more information or if you are an attorney or paralegal who would like to help honor Texas veterans, please contact Dorman Brumbelow at (903) 758-9123 or Rebekah Mason at (713) 652-0077.

What Will You Do To Honor Those Who Served?  Lone Star Legal Aid is working hard to honor our men and women who sacrificed for our country.  Lone Star Legal Aid is working with The Bell County Bar Association and the Bell County Young Lawyers Association to conduct a Veteran’s Legal Clinic on June 10, 2011, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. The Clinic will be set up on the 2nd floor of the Justice Complex, in auxiliary Courtrooms 2 and 3.

We need volunteer attorneys and paralegals to staff the Clinic and counsel our veterans. If you can help honor our service members and veterans at the Clinic, please fill out the volunteer form here: VOLUNTEER PROFILE FORM and email it to John Torti at Lone Star Legal Aid. Please consider giving your time to honor those who have served our country!!!

If you cannot assist at the June Clinic, but are willing to take one or more pro bono cases to serve Texas Veterans in desperate need of legal assistance, please fill out the attached profile form and return it to John Torti. Your information will be made available to Veterans who need assistance between Clinic dates, or at various times throughout the year.

Please consider allowing your staff to work the Clinic as well. We need people to arrive at 8:30 to help set up tables, post signs, etc., and to escort Veterans to attorneys for counseling during the Clinic. We also need individuals who can stay late to help break down the clinic.
